Career Visits are on Tuesday mornings and begin at 8:45a.m. The visit should last about 20 minutes or less. For the visit, you can be as creative as you want when presenting your career. In the past I have had parents use games, computer presentations, and skits. Some parents bring things for the students to build or make if it ties into their career. Please know that your Career Visit can be as simple as an explanation of your job role, responsibilities, and required schooling. You can usually expect the students to ask you questions as we are a curious group!
I have had parents ask if they can bring in treats or small tokens/gifts for the kids that correlate with their career. Of course that is always welcomed! Also, feel free to bring in any advertising objects that your place of business passes out. For example, I have had parents pass out key chains, pens, piggy banks, brochures, and sometimes even a treat pertaining to a specific career.
